Monday 5-3

Today was a 6.9 mile day, coming out of the NOC. I thought I was easily going to go more then that, but it was a tough climb physically and psychologically .

The trail went all up hill, in some cases very steep, seemed like every hill you conquered there was one more, that happened like 11 or 12 times, not sure if it was one Mtn with a lot of bumps or some other configuration.

Also the water was scarce, only two water sources, both towards the end.

There were some gorgeous views and I found one great lunch spot, pics below.

Tomorrow going to push for 12 mi.

Stopped at the top of the mountain at sasafras shelter. This is where I first met buck twenty, puck, burrel and echo. The guy I bunked with at the NOC was also there, creepy dude.

Buck twenty and burrel brought sausageand a block of cheddar cheese, which was really good.

View from Cheoah bald (very money spot)
