Monday 5-31

Had to pick up the last mile of roan in the morning in the rain. I briefly looked around at the top and stopped for breakfast at the shelter, which is an old firemans cabin.

The section after carvers gap to 19-e, is probably the most beautiful hiking, for stretches of time you ate walking on balds with gorgeous views. After a month walking through a tunnel in the woods it's nice to be in the open. I got light rain and clouds when I went through the area, while I didn't have some of the more amazing views, I got to experience walking in the clouds, which is a view of it's own.

Stopped for the night at Overmountain Shelter...
