Today was a slow day. We got up early and went jogging towards Eiffel Tower. Ran down a few main streets, then we made a left and Bam! the tower was right in front of us in all her glory. Cool! We ran through the park, then split to rendezvous back at the hotel. We went out to find the tourist office and book some tours for the rest of the week. We decided on a 1/2 day to Versailles (wed) and all day Champagne (Rheims) (fri). We wanted to go picnic in Luxembourg park, we bought wine, cheese, snacks and before heading out (it was raining) said screw it and stayed in the room, drinking eating watching the UK version of Jerry Springer. After, we took off to climb the Eiffel Tower, the obligatory tourist trap. Once youve climbed the tower once, subsequent trips are unnecessary. We met a young lady, Gabby, who hung out with us for the next few days. She was wrapping up a five week Eurotrip (from Portland). After the Eiffel we took a night cruise on the Sienne, went had a drink and went home. My mom said the night cruise is a must, but I disagree. Maybe night open bus tour would be better?
