Lewis Campground - Wed - 8-7

With another light day and rain day, Tara and I power to Lewis Campground. This place has a shower, laundry and camp-store. We got in pretty early, powered through the hike scaring off a few bear and deer. The campground host was friendly, but really chatty, he gave Tara a few hot dogs and explained everything in GREAT detail. The shower had weak stream, but still felt good. Im sweating profusely on the hikes even though its cool outside. I picked a campsite next to an old school RV and a patron named Louie. Louie is from Trenton NJ (what Trenton makes, the world takes) and tours the country in his RV. When I setup camp he was very involved fixing his 1968 army lantern, later I found out that he ordered parts for it, which should be coming soon from some museum in Kentucky. Louie kindly gave me a few sausages and a lobster tail. This reminded me how wonderful people are and reinforces my need to give back and keep the positive karma in our society. I was unable to start a fire, which was very annoying. I pride myself on being a good fire keeper and this was driving me nuts. Considering I had a feast to cook, this was killing me even more. Finally I gave in and used Louie's grill to make dinner. We sat around, drank beer and bullshitted most of the night. Louie explained to me the operation of a ham radio, interestingly enough, its like the internet, where people chat on various "nets". This is how he stays plugged in when he goes to remote places like Alaska.
