At 8:30a we get picked up at our hostel in Santa elena and proceed to Manuel Antonio, the drive is long and we get in via Punta arenas by 1p, then after a long van ride, Manual Antonio a few hours later.

After arriving, we checked into our hostel "Backpackers paradise Costa Linda" (warning: not quite a 5 star hostel), while it wouldn't fit many styles, I loved this place! Bar, accommodating staff, good breakfast and great location. I met a few girls that stayed at a hostel up the street (El Faro Beach Hostel, Manuel Antonio), it was a little more pricey, but has a pool (maybe worth checking out)
Monkeys just chilling out

We walked around on the beach, and got a lay of this tiny town. Then since I needed cash, we caught a bus to Quepos to hit the ATM. Quepos, like most towns is not impressive and turns shady at night. Really glad we didn't end up staying here.
I swear thats a shower curtain!

The beauty about hostels is that it brings the wandering souls together from around the world for that one un-recreatable night.... My dad and I went to the bar to polish off a few margaritas... As the night wore on, the bar started filling up with American girls :) The shots came out, yelling Pura Vida, dancing U cant touch this... The beginnings of a fun night.... Tonight I met Meg from Ohio (who is moving to San Jose to teach for 6 months) and her sister Kim (who is sending her off with a quick trip of her own, first time away from family and kids), Marissa and Crystal from Cali on a girls trip to Costa Rica and my man Osso, the best barkeep Ive met in a while (kept the party going past his work hours, by supplying booze and playing wing)!
Our drinking led to "vamanos a la playa" and the whole group took off to the beach for a late night swim. After a slight beach scare, we found a pool at the El Faro hostel and went swimming. A few hours later we got kicked out to preserve curfew, so, we retreated back to Costa Linda for a night cap.
Osso secured a 12 pack from behind the bar and a few of us stayed up drinking all night. Its nights like this, that make you really enjoy that time away, I think a big reason for this is you are connecting with people that are on their own adventure, for their own reason. That random connection of people, in a random place in time is a beautiful experience :)
Pura Vida!
